Welcome Vävaren i Båstad!

A coastal moment with Vävaren I Båstad, this striped 100% linen towel is woven in Båstad using traditional techniques and natural materials.

We are incredibly proud to welcome Vävaren i Båstad to our client portfolio, a true gem in Swedish textile craftsmanship.

Founded in 1949 by Åke Holmström in Boarp, just outside Båstad, Vävaren i Båstad has woven its legacy into the fabric of Swedish design history. After a fire destroyed his first workshop, Åke started over, this time with a clear focus on linen. That decision marked the beginning of Vävaren i Båstad, a weaving mill that has remained true to its values for over 75 years.

To this day, every piece is woven in 100% linen, or hellinne, as it’s called in Swedish, in the very same location. While others may blend materials, Vävaren i Båstad has always chosen to work with pure linen yarns in the warp, preserving the integrity and unique character of this natural fiber. This commitment makes Vävaren i Båstad not only Sweden’s oldest linen weaving mill, but also the last of its kind in Skåne.

All production, from weaving to sewing, takes place locally in Sweden. This allows full control over quality and the ability to produce made-to-order. The result? Timeless home textiles crafted with care and precision, including tablecloths, runners, napkins, bed linen, towels, and more.

We’re honored to be part of Vävaren i Båstad’s journey and look forward to sharing their story, shaped by resilience, tradition, and a deep respect for craftsmanship.
